In 1978, the Science & Technology meeting lead by Executive Yuan had passed a resolution declaring establishing a high voltage-testing institute for heavy industry.

Accordingly, in 1979, under the endowment and auspices of the Taiwan Power Company and thirteen other electric equipment manufacturers, the TERTEC was established as a non-profit professional institute for research, testing and technology services.
For years, we have earned the reputation of independence, impartiality and professionalism.

The fundamental missions are to coordinate with specific plans formulated by the Government for promoting upgrade of the electric industries, to exchange high power research and experiment learning experience and to establish high power research and experiment international reputation.
